Overview

Hotel Canandaigua

The free, in-person conference is intended for New York State clinicians (doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, certified nurse midwives, and pharmacists) and other public health professionals. The conference will offer clinical education programming in a variety of formats, including large plenary sessions, breakout sessions, and interactive skills-based activities, related to sexual health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

About Organizer

The Sexual Health Center of Excellence offers clinical education for New York State healthcare providers via live trainings, webinars, preceptorships, conferences, and additional clinical resources. It also provides clinicians with the latest NYSDOH guidelines for managing patients with STIs.

Marguerite Urban, MD

Marguerite Urban, MD

Dr. Urban is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is also the Medical Director of the Center for Community Practice and the Monroe County Sexual Health Clinic. Dr. Urban is the Principal Investigator for the New York State Clinical Education Initiative Sexual Health Center of Excellence. Her research interests relate to sexual behavior, sexual risk reduction, HIV/STI prevention, and sexual health.
Daniela E. DiMarco, MD, MPH

Daniela E. DiMarco, MD, MPH

Dr. DiMarco is an infectious diseases physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She provides clinical care within the URMC system and the Monroe County Sexual Health Clinic. Dr. DiMarco is faculty within the New York State Clinical Education Initiative Sexual Health Center of Excellence. Her work focuses on STIs, including HIV, and she leads the CDC-funded Northeast Track 2B Capacity Building Assistance Program for HIV Prevention at the University of Rochester Center for Community Practice.

Jessica L. VanScott, MPH

Jessica VanScott is the Program Manager for the New York State Clinical Education Initiative Sexual Health Center of Excellence, housed at the University of Rochester Center for Community Practice. Melinda Godfrey, MBA, FNP-C

Melinda Godfrey, MBA, FNP-C

Melinda Godfrey, MBA, FNP-C, is the Program Manager for the Congenital Syphilis Prevention Program. This NYS grant provides clinical education for medical providers regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of syphilis in pregnant people, as well as the prevention of congenital syphilis. Her role involves monitoring educational requests, managing training and speaking engagements, collecting needs assessment data, and monthly reporting to NYS.
