Ronald Plotnik,MD, MBA
Dr. Plotnik is a board certified fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in medical diseases of the cornea and anterior surface of the eye. He has extensive experience treating patients with dry eye, blepharitis, Sjogrens syndrome, corneal injuries, contact lens complications, scleritis, ocular surface disease, corneal genetic diseases, and other corneal disorders. Dr. Plotnik has an additional post-graduate degree in Medical Management and is actively involved in Quality Assurance initiatives, practice management, and resident education.
Dr. Plotnik joined the faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 1991 as an assistant professor and also serves as the associate medical director of the Rochester Eye and Human Parts Bank. He earned highest distinctions at the University of Michigan, where he received his Bachelor of Science and medical degree. After completing an ophthalmology residency and serving as chief resident at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he received further training through a cornea and external disease fellowship at the University of California-Davis.
Dr. Plotnik is actively affiliated with the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Eye Bank Association of America, and the Rochester Ophthalmic Society. He sees patients at the University of Rochester Flaum Eye Institute offices located at 210 Crittenden Boulevard.
