Description

This course will outline the future of PrEP and agents in development, review the efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), describe pre-prescription screening including contraindications and laboratory testing, and discuss best practices for patient monitoring and clinical management.

Rona Vail,MD

Rona Vail, MD is an HIV specialist providing medical care to people living with HIV for over 35 years. She has been at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center for the past 25 years, where in addition to patient care, she runs the HIV program and has also provided education and training on HIV to community members, students, residents and medical professionals. She serves on the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute Quality of Care Committee and serves as Vice Chair on the Medical Care Criteria Guidelines Committee and was the lead author on the NYS PrEP guidelines.
