This presentation will describe the epidemiology of the 2022 Monkeypox outbreak. It will discuss how to recognize the presentation of Monkeypox in the 2022 outbreak, and will describe when and how to screen for Monkeypox. It will review potential treatment options for Monkeypox, and will review how to provide prevention counseling to patients.
Jason Zucker, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Columbia University Medical Center and Assistant Medical Director of the New York City STD Prevention Training Center. Dr. Zucker trained as a combined adult and pediatric infectious diseases physician and is an experienced HIV, HIV prevention, and sexual health care provider to patients of all ages. His research focus is at the intersection of data science, behavioral science, and implementation science and focuses on optimizing engagement in the sexual health cascade of care for adolescents and young adults living with or at risk of HIV and STIs
