Description

This course is intended to explain how advances in HAART have affected cancer screening in the aging HIV population, describe how cervical cancer disproportionately affects Persons Living with HIV (PLWH), discuss cervical cancer screening options for PLWH and recognize differing recommendations for breast cancer screening and specific challenges affecting PLWH.

Andrés Ramírez Zamudio,MD, MPH

Ramírez Zamudio, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Through his work in Reproductive Infectious Diseases at the Institute for Advanced Medicine, he sees people living with HIV in and outside of pregnancy, and treats multiple forms of anogenital dysplasia, sexually transmitted infections, and vulvovaginal conditions. At the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery, he also aims to provide affirmative care to patients all along the gender spectrum. One of his clinical and research passions is prevention of HIV transmission, which he will be discussing with us today
