This presentation will describe the pathogenesis and clinic features of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). It will identify common organisms that cause PID, and will describe the updated CDC 2021 Treatment Guidelines for PID.
Erica Bostick, MD is board certified in Adolescent Medicine and Internal Medicine, completing her Internal Medicine residency at Mt. Sinai Morningside-Mt. Sinai West in New York City, and her Adolescent Medicine fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She specializes in caring for adolescents and young adults, specifically in the fields of transgender medicine, sexual and reproductive healthcare, as well as eating disorders.
Dr. Bostick has been providing this specialized care for nearly 4 years and has served hundreds of patients. She has also spoken and presented nationally on the topic of LGBTQGNC care.
Part of her clinical time is also spent at the Monroe County STD Clinic, focusing on treatment, prevention and education surrounding sexually transmitted infections. Dr. Bostick is passionate about empowering patients with the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions.
