This presentation will discuss the recently released evidence for use of doxycycline as post-exposure prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and will describe the available evidence for use of doxycycline as pre-exposure prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Daniela E. DiMarco,MD, MPH

Daniela DiMarco, MD, MPH is an infectious disease physician and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center and the Monroe County Sexual Health Clinic. Dr. DiMarco’s work is focused on STIs including HIV. She is the PI for the CDC-funded Capacity Building Assistance Program for HIV Prevention at the University of Rochester Center for Community Practice where she is Associate Medical Director, and is core faculty within the NYS AIDS Institute Clinical Education Initiative Sexual Health Center of Excellence. Dr. DiMarco participates in STI clinical research and serves on STI expert working groups at the local, regional, and national levels.
