Description

This presentation will discuss how sexual minority men drew on personal memories and/or communal narratives of the HIV pandemic to make sense of COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic. It will identify sexual minority men's motivations for continued sexual activity in the face of COVID-19 risk in the early days of the pandemic, despite calls for social distancing, and will review how sexual minority men made sense of COVID-19 risk, as well as used the logic of HIV prevention to prevent COVID-19 transmission during sexual encounters.
