Description

This presentation will identify the role of maternal screening for gonorrhea and chlamydia. It will discuss the clinical manifestations of gonococcal and chlamydial disease in the neonate, and will list prophylactic and treatment strategies for gonococcal and chlamydial disease in the neonate.

Marguerite A. Urban, MD is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the Medical Director of the Monroe County Sexual Health Clinic and the University of Rochester Center for Community Practice. She is the Principal Investigator for the NYS AIDS Institute Clinical Education Initiative – Sexual Health Center of Excellence and the NYS Congenital Syphilis Prevention Project. Her research interests relate to sexual behavior, sexual risk reduction, HIV and STI prevention and sexual health.
