Description

This presentation will differentiate common urinary tract infection syndromes and their differential diagnosis. It will identify principles of antibiotic selection and role of antibiotic stewardship as related to UTI treatment and will identify risk factors and diagnostic evaluation for recurrent UTI.

Alexandra Yamshchikov, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she serves as the Medical Director of the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy program and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. Her research interests include clinical infectious diseases, quality improvement, pharmacoequity and equity of health related outcomes, and medical informatics.
