Description

This didactic training will provide attendees with a general understanding of clinically recommended interventions to treat and manage skin and soft tissue infections associated with drug use. By participating in the session, participants will gain an understanding of the first- and second-line antibiotic treatments for skin and soft tissue infections among people who use drugs through case discussion.

Shilpa Vasishta,MD

Shilpa Vasishta, MD is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at Montefiore Medical Center. She provides inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases care and directs the medical school Infectious Diseases preclinical course and clinical rotations at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her fellowship training at Mount Sinai Hospital where her research and educational efforts centered on quality improvement, viral hepatitis, and clinical care of people who use drugs.
