Description

This presentation will discuss the complexities of genitopelvic pain and pain associated with sex in individuals across all genders and ages. The multifaceted nature of sexual pain necessitates a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed approach to diagnosis and treatment. It will review various contributors to genitopelvic pain, including genital skin conditions, myofascial pain, endometriosis, and neuroproliferation and discuss first line treatments for sexual pain concerns.

Pebble Kranz, MD leads a sexual medicine clinic in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Rochester. In 2017, she opened Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness with AASECT certified sex therapist Daniel Rosen, LCSW. Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness is a unique resource in Western New York offering comprehensive medical and mental health evaluation and treatment for sexual concerns in people of all genders. RCSW has a parallel mission to educate medical and mental health generalists about providing excellent and sensitive care for sexual concerns.

  • Introduce the ISSWSH Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder/Genitopelvic Dysesthesia Process of Care as a resource for assessment and treatment of sexual pain.
