Description

This course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of stimulant use disorder and its management in adult primary care settings. Participants will learn to recognize the symptoms of stimulant intoxication and withdrawal, as well as identify stimulant misuse and stimulant use disorder in patients. The course also covers effective outpatient clinical management strategies for treating stimulant use disorder, with an emphasis on evidence-based practices. Additionally, a key focus is placed on the harm reduction approach, highlighting strategies that prioritize patient safety and well-being while managing stimulant use disorder.

Mariya Masyukova,MD, MS

Mariya Masyukova MD, MS received a degree with an MS in clinical research from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed the Residency Program in Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. For the next several years as faculty at Montefiore, Dr. Masyukova provided primary and substance use disorder care at a federally qualified health center, worked as an embedded provider at a supportive housing site, and taught in the Family Medicine Residency Program and the NYC Homeless Healthcare Fellowship. In 2023, she became the Medical Director of Addiction Medicine and Drug User Health at Project Renewal. She is boarded in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
