Selected by attendees and the program planning committee as one of the best sessions of the ACTHIV® 2025 conference for the frontline HIV care team, this activity will focus on prophylaxis and treatment for common major opportuntistic infections in people with HIV.

David H. Spach,MD
David Spach, MD is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is also the Principal Investigator and Clinical Director of the Mountain West HIV/AIDS Education and Training Center. He has published in numerous medical resources, including The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, The Annals of Internal Medicine, Emerging Infectious Diseases, The Journal of Infectious Diseases, and Up-to- Date. Dr. Spach is editor-in-chief of National HIV Curriculum (www.hiv.uw.edu), the National STD Curriculum (www.std.uw.edu), Hepatitis C Online (www.hepatitisC.uw.edu), Hepatitis B Online (www.hepatitisB.uw.edu), and the University of Washington IDEA Program: COVID-19 Treatment (https://covid.idea.medicine.uw.edu). He has received multiple teaching honors, including the Ryan White National AIDS Education and Training Center Award, the University of Washington Department of Medicine Paul Beeson teaching award, the Marvin Turck Outstanding Teaching Award, and the University of Washington Outstanding Faculty CME Award.
