Description

This course will provide an overview of the primary care provider’s role in the HIV care continuum, review HIV basics and testing guidelines, and explain the importance of primary care in treating and preventing HIV.

Jenn Sobolik

Jenn Sobolik is an HIV and Addictions Certified Nurse Practitioner at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Rapid City, South Dakota where she provides HIV services, Hepatitis C treatment, STI testing/treatment/prevention, women’s health services, and treatment for substance use disorders in a primary care setting.   In 2017, Jenn and her team piloted an integrated HIV clinic to allow patients living with HIV to receive comprehensive care in one location.  Jenn is passionate about decreasing HIV stigma and started Black Hills AIDS Walk in 2023 to advocate for those living with HIV in their rural community.   She is a member of the Association in AIDS Care’s (ANAC’s) Policy and Advocacy Committee and serves as the co-chair of ANAC’s Rural Committee. In 2024, Jenn received the Joanne Ruiz Achievement Award for Excellence in HIV Clinical Practice.
